The Johns Hopkins university will take part in a city-wide blackout from 9:45 till A0:00tonight. Headed by Chief Warden. .Dr...Sidney Painter, wardens, assistant wardens, and first aid representatives for this and other blackouts have been appointed by a faculty committee on Campus Protection, which has been functioning since December 15. In addition, student volunteers in the dormitories are to act as spotters for infractions of blackout regulations. The signal for the beginning of the test is to be given for this section of the city by a steam whistle on the Hopkins power plant, and for the University buildings by the repeated ringing of class bells. When this signal is given, students and teachers are to move into shelter areas designated by the Protection committee. In general, these areas are the corridors. As an example of plans which differ slightly from building to building, students and instructors in Gilman hall are to go to the corridors on the floors Where they find themselves, except for those on the top floor, who are to walk down to the third story hall, and those in the t main library, who are to, go down to the level of the bookshop. A long steady ringing of the bells is the all-clear signal. Classes being held when the alarm is given may be dismissed at the end of the blackout period or continued until 10:15, at the instructor's discretion. Dr Painter, assisted by J H Potter, is in charge of the blackout tonight. .1
